BL-130-5K BALUN 1:1 (50:50 Ohms)

The BL-130-5K is a high-performance 1:1 current balun (choke balun) designed for HF operation from 1-30MHz. It’s the perfect replacement balun for popular multiband Yagis, including the Cushcraft A3S, A3WS, A4S with add-on kits, Hy-Gain TH3, TH5, TH6DXX, TH7, TH11, as well as any WARC multi-band or single-band antenna with a balanced feedpoint.

The BL-130-5K delivers 3,300-6,600 Ohms of common-mode choking impedance across the 3-30MHz range, with usable performance down to 160m (over 3,000 Ohms). See the measurement chart in the image gallery for actual test data. Unlike other companies, we do not claim unrealistic impedance values or frequency coverage.

Most importantly, the Resistive component (Rs) of the choking impedance is always higher than the Reactive component (Xs) across the working bandwidth. This Rs>Xs relationship ensures your antenna remains properly balanced, preventing your coaxial cable from becoming part of the radiator, which would otherwise degrade your radiation pattern and front-to-back ratio.
