BL-1030-10K BALUN 1:1 (50:50 Ohms)

The BL-1030-10K is a high-power 1:1 current balun (choke balun) designed for serious contest and DX stations running legal limit and beyond. Covering 10-30MHz (40m through 10m), it’s the ideal choice for monoband or multiband Yagis on the prime DX bands.

Built with two massive 3? (76mm) ferrite cores and wound with MIL-SPEC PTFE coaxial cable (Thermax MIL-C-17/112-RG304), the BL-1030-10K delivers approximately 6,000 Ohms of common-mode choking impedance across its operating range. See the measurement chart in the image gallery for actual test data. Unlike other companies, we do not claim unrealistic impedance values or frequency coverage.

Most importantly, the Resistive component (Rs) of the choking impedance is always higher than the Reactive component (Xs) across the working bandwidth. This Rs>Xs relationship ensures your antenna remains properly balanced, preventing your coaxial cable from becoming part of the radiator, which would otherwise degrade your radiation pattern and front-to-back ratio.
