Description
EFHW-4010-1K-ICAS™ Multi-Band End Fed Half Wave Antenna
“This is the first EFHW antenna we introduced back in 2015, and we are proud to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Over the years, we’ve made subtle enhancements to ensure top performance: the transformer has been refined, and the antenna wire has been upgraded to durable 16-gauge XLPE stealth wire. In 2016, this antenna was reviewed by ARRL QST Magazine, and you can read the detailed review here.”
EFHW-4010-1KW-ICAS Multi-Band End Fed Half-Wave Antenna with Pole/Tower installation hardware
The EFHW-4010-1KW-ICAS is a premium End-Fed Half-Wave (EFHW) antenna designed for seamless multi-band operation across the 40/20/15/10m bands. Unlike many end-fed antennas on the market, this model requires no antenna tuner, thanks to its resonance on 40m (7 MHz) and its harmonics (2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.).

Grounding Recommendations
- Grounding the coaxial cable at the home’s entry point is highly recommended to protect equipment from electrostatic buildup and prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD).
- If the transformer box is mounted high above the ground, grounding at the box is unnecessary—ground the coaxial cable instead.
- Note: Grounding does not affect antenna tuning.
SWR Performance
- Typical SWR readings are better than 2:1 when mounted 25–30 feet above ground and fed with 50 feet of RG8X coaxial cable.
Perfect for Emergency and Professional Use
This antenna is ideal for ALE HF-Link, NVIS, MARS, ARES, EMCOMM, and similar applications. It’s suitable for both temporary and permanent installations, ensuring reliable communication in critical scenarios.

I just installed it as an Inverted V and it has a good SWR. Thank you

I have a Cobra Sr. Ultralight dipole I’ve used for many years but I wanted a multi-band vertical to fill in the gaps of the lobes of the horizontal dipole and especially for the the low angle radiation of a vertical for maximum DX now that the upper bands are open with the current solar cycle. I’m lucky to have a number of very tall tress on my property so I put up the MyAntennas EFHW-4010-1K-ICAS vertically. SWR was 1.5 or less on 40, 20, 15, & 10M just as advertised. SWR on the non-resonant bands (30,17,12M) was between 3.0 – 4.8 but my Elecraft KAT-500 could tune them no problem. Out of curiosity I tried tuning 75M. I can tune to 1.0 – totally unexpected! Excellent antenna. Well-made with rugged hardware.

Very well constructed. Tunes the high end of 40 but internal tuner takes care of that. Had lots of RF getting into shack until I made a few loops of the feedline. Great antenna
Trisha –
Love this EFHW antenna. Can’t see, almost invisible. Have talked throughout the USA. I can recommend this antenna without hesitation.

Very happy with MyAntennas
EFHW-4010-1K-ICAS. Well built and works well. 2-3 s units above my ground mounted vertical. Also mine is semi-resonant across entire 80m and 160m with swr below 3:1, which tuner on radio can easily handle, YMMV.

Works very well.

Wow. Great antenna! I replaced a CHA EM COMMII non resonant antenna because it was a poor performer for DX.
I have this 4010 EFHW installed with one end at 30ft and the other at 25ft. Making lots of DX QSOs. Have only had it up a couple of weeks but so far it’s handling 1200W-1300W with no issues. I’m getting great signal reports from DX stations 6000+ miles from me.

I bought three of these for field day. One would not tune up on 40 meter, otherwise a great antenna.

These efhw’s are awesome!
I bought the 8010 years ago and it worked great, then I moved to a smaller lot and had to go with the 4010 . SWR is 1:3 or better on all bands and the warc bands with a tuner works great also. Customer service is great

Installed in about an hour. Already added Seven (7) new ATNO’s to my DXCC totals. Works great!

If you do not know how to build a super antenna then buy from these folks. . As the saying goes ” You get what you pay for.”
Donald Smith –
I took it out the box, hung it up about 50ft…never looked back, plays nicely on all the bands I play on. I’m thinking about buying another one!
Paul –
Great service. Highly recommend the antenna and the seller.
Gregory Rix –
Mounted the feed point about 28 feet up on tower leg with the distant 12 feet above the ground. Antenna plays well and a solid investment. Highly recommend. 73, de WB7GR

Have had the antenna for about two weeks and really enjoy using it with my 20 watt radio. Have it as an inverted vee with the center at about 30 feet. Nice construction. John V.

This is better for semi fixed installation than for POTA but can definitely be used for POTA. Very sturdy and the build quality is excellent. The antenna is very sensitive and performs well even in high wind.

This is my second MyAntenna purchase for the build quality. Thank you !
Paul E. –
Well built. Easy to install.

Antenna work’s really well. I’m in Arizona and have worked coast to coast
, and South America & New Zealand with this antenna. Highly recommend!
DONALD DICKERSON –
Works great! I put it in the inverted configuration and it is working great!

OK… I just purchased this antenna for an older friend (Elmer) that has some physical issues. I temporarily installed this in my driveway as a sloper antenna with the high end at 23 ft and the low end at 6 ft. Using my Rig Expert 10, 12, 15, 20, & 40m bands were all below 1.5:1, and 12m was 1.8. Interestingly enough, they advertise this antenna at 10, 15, 20 & 40, however, I made contacts on 6 different bands with 5-9 reports and the SWR was flat. I am so impressed I plan on ordering an 8010 antenna for myself. I also intend to update this post after I get it installed and on the air for my friend.

Wish I started using these long ago. Bought two, mounted at 90 degrees to each other, feed at 12′ agl, apex at 25 ‘ agl, ran the coax and got on the air. No testing or trimming, just operating. Very happy with the performance. Much less aggravation than my home brew dipoles. Have a third one on order to configure as a Inverted ‘V’.

The most easiest antenna I purchased, installed, and began contacts. In fact, it was a gift for a friend and to prove it worked, I hung the high end on a 25 ft pole and the low end at 10 ft. SWR was below 1:6 so I did not have to trim the length. I activated POTA and made 80 contact across the US,Canada, and Dominican Republic in less than 2 hours! I plan on purchasing the EFHW 8010 for my home antenna allowing me to remove several Inverted-V antennas! Very pleased with the product.

Excellent antenna. Used for WL RMS Relay and Trimode on 40m and 20m. Gets the job done covering the eastern USA.

45 years ago, you had to make your own antennas and hoped they worked. This antenna, I put it up, no testing, works exceptionally well. Thanks.
