Description

EFHW-7510-1K-ICAS™ Multi-Band End Fed Half Wave Antenna

“This is the first EFHW antenna we introduced back in 2015, and we are proud to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Over the years, we’ve made subtle enhancements to ensure top performance: the transformer has been refined, and the antenna wire has been upgraded to durable 16-gauge XLPE stealth wire. In 2016, this antenna was reviewed by ARRL QST Magazine, and you can read the detailed review here.

EFHW-7510-1KW-ICAS Multi-Band End Fed Half-Wave Antenna with pole/tower installation hardware

The EFHW-7510-1KW-ICAS is a premium End-Fed Half-Wave (EFHW) antenna designed for seamless multi-band operation across the 75/40/30/20/17/15/12/10m bands. Unlike many end-fed antennas on the market, this model requires no antenna tuner, thanks to its resonance on 80m (3.5 MHz) and its harmonics (2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.).

Features and Advantages

  • No Tuner Required: Fully resonant across multiple bands.
  • High-Efficiency Transformer:
    • Designed with two FT-240 (2.4-inch dia.) stacked cores for minimal insertion loss.
    • Transformation ratio of ~56:1 (~2800:50 Ohms).
    • Optimized for 3.5–30 MHz with an unmatched average loss of less than 0.6 dB—a benchmark in the market for RF transformers.
    • Worldwide leader in high-ratio, wide-bandwidth transformer design by E73M.
  • Flexible Installations:
    • Can be deployed in configurations such as horizontal, vertical, inverted V, or inverted L.
  • Stealth Design:
    • Constructed with durable, black #16 AWG XLPE wire for a low-visibility, weather-resistant installation.
    • Equipped with stainless steel hardware for longevity.

Technical Specifications

  • Frequency Range: 3.5–30 MHz.
  • Resonant Bands: 75/40/30/20/17/15/12/10m.
  • Power Handling:
    • 1 kW I.C.A.S. for voice modes.
    • 250W for digital modes such as FT8.
  • Wire Length: ~130 feet.
  • Connector: Silver/Teflon SO-239.
  • Transformer: MEF-330-1KW-ICAS, optimized for 3–30 MHz.
  • Pole /Tower hardware: U-bolts with V-blocks  for a diameter up to 2 inches (51mm)

Grounding Recommendations

  • Grounding the coaxial cable at the home’s entry point is highly recommended to protect equipment from electrostatic buildup and prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD).
  • If the transformer box is mounted high above the ground, grounding at the box is unnecessary—ground the coaxial cable instead.
  • Note: Grounding does not affect antenna tuning.

SWR Performance

  • Typical SWR readings are better than 2:1 when mounted 25–30 feet above ground and fed with 50 feet of RG8X coaxial cable.

Perfect for Emergency and Professional Use

This antenna is ideal for ALE HF-LinkNVISMARSARESEMCOMM, and similar applications. It’s suitable for both temporary and permanent installations, ensuring reliable communication in critical scenarios.

Haven’t put it up yet due to a straight week of rain. Looking forward to it. Shipping was quick.

This is a great quality antenna! I have wound many cores myself and played with EFWH antennas in many configurations building my own. Unless you know what you are doing, it’s difficult to get the efficiency of the transformer as low as MyAntennas does. I installed this as a half square antenna for a couple weeks just to see what it would do. Vertical 32′, horizontal 66′ and back down 32′. So this 75m 130 ft long antenna only takes up 66′ in the yard. And you don’t have to use those numbers exactly. If you are off by 10′ use that. It will work. And work good! I had a 200mw WSPR transmitter hooked up to it for a week and had it transmit on 80-10m. I received spots all over the world, Africa, Asia, Australia, North and South America, Alaska, Antarctica, Europe. And that was 0.2 watts. These are great antennas for beginners or experts. Can be installed way high, or stealthy. Can be installed as an inverted L, V, flat top dipole, halfsquare or any crazy dog leg manner to get it to fit on your property. Use a tree, a Spiderbeam pole. Just get it up into the air and you will make contacts. It’s also convenient being able to feed it from the end. Uses less coax than a regular center fed dipole and covers multiple band with only 1 wire.
