Description
EFHW-4010-2K-Plus, 2000W Multi-Band End Fed Half Wave Antenna
Improved version of the EFHW-4010-2K, now with three large cores, 3-inch diameter, featuring just 0.5 dB Insertion loss!
This is an End-Fed Half-Wave (EFHW*) antenna for 40/20/15 and 10m bands. Unlike many END FED antennas on the market, this one does not require the Antenna Tuner to operate. It is a resonant Half wave on 40m (7MHz) therefore also resonant on second, third, and fourth harmonics. Due to the High Impedance feed point, the antenna is less height-dependent. You can put it up at 10 or 50 feet in the air without much change in VSWR values.
*This is perfect antenna for ALE HF-link stations, NVIS, MARS, ARES, EMCOMM etc.
Various installations such as horizontal, vertical, inverted V, inverted L, etc. are possible. Measured VSWR in the gallery are taken with the antenna in an inverted V shape with the center of wire at 20 feet and ends a few feet above the ground, your values could vary with the way and height of installation.
- NO TUNER needed!
- NO counterpoise is needed! (Grounding recommended*)
- Frequency coverage: 7-30MHz
- Resonant on 40/20/15/10m
- Wire length ~63 feet
- Power Handling: 2kW I.C.A.S
- Digital modes 350W continuous.
- Stainless Steel Hardware
- Stealth #14 AWG XLPE black wire
- Connector: Silver/Teflon SO-239
- The 2K-Plus model has three large stacked cores

*Grounding at the transformer box or end of the coaxial cable is recommended for protection of your equipment from an electrostatic buildup in order to prevent ESD- electrostatic discharge.
NOTE: grounding does not affect antenna tuning. If the transformer box is installed high above the ground , there is no need to route the ground wire from the box, instead just ground the coaxial cable at the entrance to your home or at the station.
*Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (ARES), ALE-Automatic Link Establishment (HFlink), MARS-The U.S. Army Military Auxiliary Radio System (AMARS), NVIS

This is the best antenna I’ve ever purchased…My IC7300 tunes it to 1:1 on 40/20/15 and 10. I have mine coming off the 2nd story roof, and run horizontal to a tree in the backyard. The black antenna wire is very hard to see and is a perfect fit for me since I live in an HOA that doesn’t allow antennas.

Ive had the 40-10 (2KW) up as an inverted V for years now. Not very high at all apex at 25 feet. I ve been able to work local and DX on all bands and have even used it on 17M with my QRP rig at 20W. But tonight beats all…I just worked a station in Japan with 700W going into the V on 15M. He was amazed that my antenna was only at 25 ft. Great antenna and great company. Thanks.

This antenna is amazing. I have only run dipoles and yagis in my 45 years of radio. When I moved into a new house, I wanted something I could install quickly and use until my tower was up. I had heard many great things about the EFHW antennas. I looked for a really good one and found the Myantennas.com. The transformer is mounted about 25 feet up. The wire runs east to a tree. I checked it with my Rig Expert AA2000. The SWR on 10, 15, 20, and 40 is rock bottom! No tuning required. I operate a Ten Tec Corsair that I have owned since I bought it new in 1983. The Corsair is very sensitive to SWR much over 2 to 1. If I get close to 3 to 1, the Corsair will trip its circuit breaker. The Corsair works perfectly with this antenna and without a tuner. I have worked Hawaii and British Columbia to the west. I have worked all over Europe and Eastern Europe. USA, Canada, and the Caribbean, no problem and all from my east coast of Florida location. I can’t recommend this antenna enough. One caveat, it DOES NOT operate on the WARC bands. I like it so much that I am ordering the 80-10 2KPlus. I want to run it north and south and see how it does.

Straight forward and easy install. From central TX I go coast-to-coast. Furthest east – Qatar, west – Taiwan

Construction quality is good. Performance even better, I first installed it only 8 feet above ground and I made contacts throughout North America. I then pushed it up, in a flat configuration, to 33 feet and oh boy! Yesterday I made a contact in Australia, 8 thousand miles away … Also pushing it up, at least for me, made the antenna workable in the 80 m band

OK, question. I have an HF radio and I am using this EFHW-40-10-2K plus antenna. NVIS setup. I plan to set up a MOBILE system in a pickup truck. How close can I set up the antenna to the pickup truck?

Easy to use and reception.

This product exceeds expectations!!! I have three different models and they all perform great in NVIS configuration. Suggest getting the 2K versions for digital operation.

Great wire antenna for limited space (restrictions on antennas) residences.

I’ve been using the EFHW-4010-2K-Plus now for about three months at my space-restricted QTH, and I am extremely pleased with it’s performance. It replaced a Chameleon EMCOMM II and it is definitely outperforming the EMCOMM II – especially for DX. I make contacts all over the US as well as Central and South America, and now I can make contacts into Europe, Japan, Australia and Southeast Asia as well. I have it mounted as an inverted L with a 32′ vertical segment and a 31′ horizontal segment with the transformer mounted about 5′ above the ground. I am totally convinced you cannot possibly get a better performing antenna for 40m, 20m, 15m and 10m at this price point. I would highly recommend this antenna for a space-restricted QTH or any QTH for that matter!

I installed the antenna as per the instructions. My location is not ideal, but I have made many good DX contacts and chased down many POTA activations.

Brand new my antenns, EFHW -4010 plus Drop tested 30 Ft from a rooftop onto a 120 Gallon propane tank, when installing this antenna system, I inadvertently had the Balun box pulled fom my hands when the coil of the long wire was pulled on after falling from resting on the pole bracket pulling the whole assembly from my hands onto the propane tank shattering a roughly 1.5 hole in the side of the Balun box, I could not glue it back together, so I temporary used Gorilla duct tape even though the Ferrite cores became unattached from the inside of the Balun box, surveyed the internals for damage None! Reattached the baluns.
Then I attached to the antenna pole, then i used my Rigexpert antenna analyzer to check for operability, huh it all worked. This Antenna an EFHW-4010Plus is not mine, I installed it for him since he is legally Blind, but I am the one that broke it. I already own a an EFHW 75 plus being the one who recommend the 4010 plus to him,
Tomorrow I will be contacting Tech support to see if they will sell me a replacement housing I hope that my antennas will help me out.

The antenna works great! Very high quality and so easy to install. I did adjust/tune the length a bit to my liking, I didn’t cut any of the wire, “you don’t have to” just fold the wire back and wrap it around itself, some small zip ties and good to go. Feed point is roughly 20’ and slopes up to around 40’, I don’t have much room so this antenna fit the space I have for EFHW. If you’re limited on space and just want to get your HF station up and on the air. The SWR is great across each band and I receive great reports.
