Description

EFHW-4010-2K-Plus, 2000W Multi-Band End Fed Half Wave Antenna

Improved version of the EFHW-4010-2K, now with three large cores, 3-inch diameter, featuring just 0.5 dB Insertion loss!

This is an End-Fed Half-Wave (EFHW*) antenna for 40/20/15 and 10m bands. Unlike many END FED antennas on the market, this one does not require the Antenna Tuner to operate. It is a resonant Half wave on 40m (7MHz) therefore also resonant on second, third, and fourth harmonics.  Due to the High Impedance feed point, the antenna is less height-dependent. You can put it up at 10 or 50 feet in the air without much change in VSWR values.

*This is perfect antenna for ALE HF-link  stations, NVIS, MARS, ARES, EMCOMM etc.

Various installations such as horizontal, vertical, inverted V, inverted L, etc. are possible. Measured VSWR in the gallery are taken with the antenna in an inverted V shape with the center of wire at 20 feet and ends a few feet above the ground, your values could vary with the way and height of installation.

  • NO TUNER needed!
  • NO counterpoise is needed! (Grounding recommended*)
  • Frequency coverage: 7-30MHz
  • Resonant on 40/20/15/10m
  • Wire length ~63 feet
  • Power Handling: 2kW I.C.A.S
  • Digital modes 350W  continuous.
  • Stainless Steel Hardware
  • Stealth #14 AWG XLPE black wire
  • Connector: Silver/Teflon SO-239
  • The 2K-Plus model has three large stacked cores

*Grounding at the transformer box or end of the coaxial cable is recommended for protection of your equipment from an electrostatic buildup in order to prevent ESD- electrostatic discharge.

NOTE: grounding does not affect antenna tuning. If the transformer box is installed high above the ground , there is no need to route the ground wire from the box, instead just ground the coaxial cable at the entrance to your home or at the station.

This is the best antenna I’ve ever purchased…My IC7300 tunes it to 1:1 on 40/20/15 and 10. I have mine coming off the 2nd story roof, and run horizontal to a tree in the backyard. The black antenna wire is very hard to see and is a perfect fit for me since I live in an HOA that doesn’t allow antennas.

Ive had the 40-10 (2KW) up as an inverted V for years now. Not very high at all apex at 25 feet. I ve been able to work local and DX on all bands and have even used it on 17M with my QRP rig at 20W. But tonight beats all…I just worked a station in Japan with 700W going into the V on 15M. He was amazed that my antenna was only at 25 ft. Great antenna and great company. Thanks.

This antenna is amazing. I have only run dipoles and yagis in my 45 years of radio. When I moved into a new house, I wanted something I could install quickly and use until my tower was up. I had heard many great things about the EFHW antennas. I looked for a really good one and found the Myantennas.com. The transformer is mounted about 25 feet up. The wire runs east to a tree. I checked it with my Rig Expert AA2000. The SWR on 10, 15, 20, and 40 is rock bottom! No tuning required. I operate a Ten Tec Corsair that I have owned since I bought it new in 1983. The Corsair is very sensitive to SWR much over 2 to 1. If I get close to 3 to 1, the Corsair will trip its circuit breaker. The Corsair works perfectly with this antenna and without a tuner. I have worked Hawaii and British Columbia to the west. I have worked all over Europe and Eastern Europe. USA, Canada, and the Caribbean, no problem and all from my east coast of Florida location. I can’t recommend this antenna enough. One caveat, it DOES NOT operate on the WARC bands. I like it so much that I am ordering the 80-10 2KPlus. I want to run it north and south and see how it does.
